Dental Implants

Dental implant surgery is the procedure of replacing the tooth with a metal screw-like root (made of titanium) and replacing the damaged or missing tooth with an artificial tooth that looks and functions like a real tooth. Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution for removable partial or full dentures. The teeth attached to the implants look very natural and often enhance or restore the patient’s smile!. Dental implants are very strong, stable, and durable and will last for many years.

Dental implants may be suitable if:

  • Have one or more missing teeth.
  • Have adequate bone to secure the implants or are able to have a bone graft
  • Don’t have health conditions that will affect bone healing.
  • Want to improve your chewing, speaking, and digestion.
  • Want to restore or improve facial tissues.
  • Supports a bridge or denture to make it more secure and comfortable.

Dental implants procedures.

The process of implant placement requires multiple visits over several months. X-rays and 3D images are taken at our office to determine the bone and space available for an implant. While the area is numbed, the implant is surgically placed into the bone and can take up to six months to heal and integrate into the bone. If your jawbone isn’t thick enough or is too soft, you may need bone grafting before you can have dental implant surgery.

After the implant adheres to the jawbone, a small connecting post called an abutment is added to the post to attach a new tooth.

We will take the impression of your teeth and create a model of your bite to create a new tooth. This model serves as the basis for new teeth. We also match your new implant restauration with your original tooth color. Because the implant is embedded in the jawbone, the replacement tooth looks, feels, and functions like a real one. Good oral hygiene, good eating habits, and regular dental visits will support the life of your new implant
